D-Day is now upon us. Months of preparation, dedication, and plenty of perspiration have gone into making this event a success. This year’s theme at the IBM stand is to promote Smarter Cities, and from previous posts, you can see that there is more than meets the eye. At our stand, you will be greeted by our enthusiastic volunteers who will run you through what we see as a bigger and brighter future for the 70% of the worldwide population which will inhabit our urban areas by 2050 (source: UN-habitat). Apart from that, there are plenty of entertaining freebies to get your hands on, as well as our IBM passport, a stimulating guide through our plans for Smarter Cities.

Don’t forget though, that this is about you. Through our interactive guide you can see for yourself how our cities can be improved, and by answering a quick questionnaire, you can see the practical results appear simultaneously on our Wordle screen. Come see us at stand 30, get involved, and see the practical results!

Every day, we will post a review of the day’s developments from the RDS so that you miss out on nothing. These reviews will also be accompanied by video interviews of some of our volunteers, members of staff, teachers, and of course students.

We also want to hear from you. What were your highlights of the Exhibition? Which were your favourite stands? Who inspired you the most? Let us know what stands stood out for you. Most of all, we want your views and opinions, thoughts and impressions. As whimsical as it may be, it matters, so let us know!

Enjoy the Exhibition, because this is where the real magic happens!

Cool post Cormac, it makes me look forward to being there tomorrow. Only, I hope it’s a little warmer in the RDS than it was today. I better bring a warmer coat, or our interviews will have a lot of camera shake!

Maith thú, a Chormaic. Ag súil go mbeidh mé in ann a bheith i láthair go fíorúil ag Taispeántas Eolaithe Óga na Bliana i mbliana cé go bhfuil cónaí orm thar lear anois. Ní raibh mé i láthair aige le fada!

Coinnigh ort, a bhuachaill. Is maith liom do bhlag! Aon seans ar chor ar bith gur féidir leat cuid de a scríobh i nGaeilge?
