As a member of the IBM core project team at the BT Young Scientist Exhibition Future Learning Zone it was a pleasure to demonstrate and share knowledge about the the Kidsmart young explorer computer unit to teachers, students and dignitaries. Over ten plus years IBM has invested more than 75 million dollars in the Kidsmart Early Learning Programme , including the donation of more than 45.000 Young Explorer learning units.

In Ireland since the year 2000, 730 Young Explorer units have been donated to over 350 primary schools. This includes a computer console, educational software available in 27 different languages, teacher training and a parent guide.
